OneHundred Word Wednesday-The Pink Glove Lay on the Ground, Almost Covered

So, I thought I was taking the summer off, to focus on writing and family. But this summer has been insane, and I've gotten very little writing done. Fortunately, I've spent a lot of time with family, but most of it has been nursing the sick.
HOWEVER
However, we are all better. Oldest is safely off to camp, and my two little ones are playing tag in the living room (not so safely). In between crying spells when they inevitably crash into the wall or the table, here's my 100 word story for the week!

The prompt: The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered

My take:
The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered by all the luggage—everyone was going home. He recognized it immediately. It was hers. The girl he’d been trying to talk to all week. But she was shy, and all his attempts to impress her had gone unnoticed.
He dug the glove from under the pile and looked desperately across the courtyard for her. She was standing by a car, staring at the ground, her other glove in her hand. He jogged over, heart in his throat. “You dropped this.”

She smiled shyly at him, taking the glove. “Thank you.”

Now see how everyone else did it!
