Rone Awards
Earlier this year, Feudlings and Warrior Beautiful were both eligible for a Rone award--given out by the fabulous In'Dtale Magazine. Feudlings made it to the final round with five other amazing books, but Warrior Beautiful did not.
SO.
The awards were a couple weeks ago. Adorable Husband's best friend lives in Arizona, so we made a fun weekend out of it--we drove down and he drove up and we met in the middle and spent all weekend playing in Vegas.
Also, the awards.
Feudlings won!! I didn't expect it to happen. I was totally unprepared--I hadn't written a speech or anything, so of course I sounded like a dork when I went up to accept my award. Still, it was a blast, and I was so honored!
The awards theme was Paris Nights |

OneHundred Word Wednesday-The Pink Glove Lay on the Ground, Almost Covered
So, I thought I was taking the summer off, to focus on writing and family. But this summer has been insane, and I've gotten very little writing done. Fortunately, I've spent a lot of time with family, but most of it has been nursing the sick.
HOWEVER
However, we are all better. Oldest is safely off to camp, and my two little ones are playing tag in the living room (not so safely). In between crying spells when they inevitably crash into the wall or the table, here's my 100 word story for the week!
The prompt: The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered
My take:

The prompt: The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered
My take:
The pink glove lay on the ground, almost covered by all the
luggage—everyone was going home. He recognized it immediately. It was hers. The girl he’d been trying to talk
to all week. But she was shy, and all his attempts to impress her had gone
unnoticed.
He dug the glove from under the pile and looked desperately
across the courtyard for her. She was standing by a car, staring at the ground,
her other glove in her hand. He jogged over, heart in his throat. “You dropped
this.”
She smiled shyly at him, taking the glove. “Thank you.”
Now see how everyone else did it!

OneHundred Word Wednesday--It was Just for One Night
OneHundred Word Wednesday time again!! This week's prompt is:
It was just for one night
It was just for one night. A lifetime of memories were made in those short hours, but now I can only watch him from a distance. He’s as beautiful as ever—the accident didn’t scar him, except for the pain in his eyes. I wish I could tell him that he’d given me a gift, that I could protect him now in a way I never could before.
But I can’t tell him. Guardian angels aren’t allowed to talk to their charges. All I can do is spread my wings and block him from the pain of a dark world.
Now see how everyone else did it!
